Just as stunning and as fragrant as their indoor relatives, the snowy white, waxy flowers of the gardenia in this stunning collection completely smother the glossy, evergreen leaves from early June onwards, opening from tight buds to exquisite blooms.
The scent of gardenias is so gorgeous its often used in perfume, so imagine sitting on your patio this summer surrounded by its intoxicatingly sweet fragrance – heavenly – and something that your friends and family will be sure to remark on.
Beautifully compact shrubs, Gardenia are very easy to grow and simple to care for. Simply plant out in a pot or a garden border, preferably using ericaceous compost, and they will happily grow and flourish outdoors all year round.
The gardenia varieties are ‘Kleims Hardy’, ‘Crown Jewel’ and ‘Pinwheel’Â – Supplied as three established plants in a 9cm pots, ready to plant out.
Care Information
- Choose a sheltered location, ideally in dappled or partial shade.
- Plant in ericaceous (acidic compost), and feed well in summer.
- To avoid yellowing leaves, feed every week in growth.
- Although perfectly hardy, plants will benefit from some winter protection if it gets very cold. Container grown plants can be moved under cover.
